The planning and implementation of courses in information literacy have long been the responsibility of librarians in the university environment. The introduction of the Swiss Standards for Information Literacy provides course instructors with a basis for the design of their course content.
The guidelines for courses on information literacy illustrates how courses can be designed based on the standards. The guidelines provide recommendations on how to plan and evaluate courses and support instructors regarding questions of didactics. Particular attention is given to the formulation of learning objectives based on the standards. In addition to general information on the didactics and methodology of courses, the guidelines also provide information on organisational parameters that course instructors have to consider in the university environment.
